TRAILS & MAPS

Onteora boasts many miles of nature trails available to members and guests for hiking, trail running and cross-country skiing. Many of the trails afford gorgeous views of the Catskill Mountain landscape. Most are now marked with color-coded markers, and the most popular have signs that mark the trailheads. Some new, unmarked trails have developed as a result of the ongoing selective timbering program.

Onteora trails are color marked. Always take a map with you, especially when hiking Parker Mountain trails or below the lake. Double colored markers designate a trailhead or intersection. Many signs are up, but not all trails have signage yet.

Rocks and rock staircases tend to be very slippery, especially when wet or with moss. Take extra special care when descending. Please report any maintenance issues to the designated trail overseer or the trail chairman.
